  • Why should she leave...

She should have taught us Finance English this semester had she not gone...

The last time we saw her, she was with us alive and well, laughing and giving me advice...

All ended on Jan. 19 as she suddenly died of heart attack, leaving everything and everyone behind.

When I heard the terrible news, I couldn't believe it's true. How could it be?

It's a heart-broken fact that sometimes people leave us when we're still anticipating to have them around.

It is sad, it is cruel, but it is true...

  • Peace and Quiet

The retrieved peace and quiet lasts today. I don't know how long will it last, but I pray for as long as it stays.

Truth be told, I suddenly feel a sense of loss as to what to do sometimes. But mostly, I enjoy the precious moments of peace and quiet.

That's the life where I've been longing for and hoping to embrace!

    May it last for ever!

P.S. I've recommended an article to my favorite English learning magazine.
Hopefully the editor will like it and who knows? But I'm anticipating the good news...

  • A Historic Victory!

    Gosh! It's a long story.

My home is on the street which is awash with noise of cars, ambulance, fire fighters. However, ever since 2006, the shop underneath my home has been playing loud music everyday. I was fed up with it as we can hear it very clearly. It's impossible to concentrate on my study any longer with the noiseated music. Therefore, I called the police. To my annoyance, after the police had gone, the noise continued. I called the police again. But they refused to offer help anymore.

Thinking that the problem may never be solved, I had no choice but to find a library nearby and stay in it all day long. To make matters worse, the library wasn't quiet due to the lack of supervision and descipline. People talking, eating...

Truth be told, I'm not asking for much. All I need is a quiet place where I can sit down and study though I'm somwhat peculiar to the environment when I study.

Back to the terrible music, the ascalating trouble has beyond my tolerance as it gives out noise everyday from 9:30 A.M. to 9:30 P.M. I was hoping to study with my ears closed or stuffed. However, I finally decided yesterday I must fight. I couldn't be silent anymore whatever it takes. So, I called the damn police again and complained about the situation. Several minutes later, the police did come. The noise ceased. But it was after just an hour later that the music was played again.(none of the songs were pleasant, believe me) I called again. It was the different policeman. After making sure the exact location, he drove here. The music stopped right away. The policeman called back and said it was a hot potato and what he could do was to ask them to turn it down. I said ok so long as they wouldn't disturb again.

Thus, there hasn't been music temporarily since yesterday evening. But how long will the opeimistic situation last, who knows?

I'll wait and see. In case it sings again, I'll definitely resort to police again.

So, I think it's a historic victory, though temporary.

  • Life's Tough

My life is filled with apparently tedious work, yet I'm willing.

There's hardly hope for my goal as there're so many dark forces involved which I can't alter, but I'll try my best!
